How buying a certified diamond works
From choosing a loose stone to building a ring — here's exactly how it goes, and why every step is verifiable.
Every piece we sell starts with a stone you can verify. Here is exactly how buying from Sprezzatura works, and why you never have to take our word for anything.
1. Choose a certified diamond
Browse loose diamonds by shape, carat, color, and clarity. Every stone — natural or lab-grown — is graded by an independent laboratory before it is listed, so what you see is what you get.
Natural or lab-grown? Both are real diamonds with identical physical and optical properties. Natural diamonds form over billions of years underground; lab-grown diamonds are created in weeks from the same carbon structure. Lab-grown typically costs less per carat, which is why many shoppers use it to size up.
2. Understand the 4Cs
- Cut — how well the diamond is faceted, and the biggest driver of sparkle. Aim for Excellent or Very Good.
- Color — graded D (colorless) to Z. D–G looks white to the eye.
- Clarity — the presence of tiny inclusions, from Flawless to Included. VS1–VS2 are eye-clean and great value.
- Carat — the diamond’s weight, not its size. Cut and shape affect how large it looks.
3. Build your ring
Once you have a stone, pair it with a setting in solid 10k, 14k, or 18k gold — solitaire, halo, pavé, or three-stone. Each ring is made to order, finished by hand, and set with your chosen diamond before it ships.
Bracelets and earrings
Prefer something ready to wear? Our tennis bracelets, chains, studs, hoops, and drops are all solid gold and set with certified diamonds — no plating, no filler.
What certified actually means
Every diamond ships with an independent grading report from GIA or IGI, two of the most trusted laboratories in the world. The report documents the exact 4Cs, measurements, and any treatments, and you can look it up directly with the lab. If a stone is not certified, we do not sell it.
Shipping, insurance, and warranty
Orders ship free via insured FedEx overnight, fully covered until they reach your hands. Every piece is backed by a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects, and returns are accepted within 30 days.
Common questions
Can I see the certificate before I buy?
Yes. The lab report and its number are shown on the product page, and you can verify it on the lab’s own website before you order.
Is a lab-grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes — chemically, physically, and optically identical to a mined diamond. The only difference is origin.
What if my ring does not fit?
Reach out within 30 days and we will resize or exchange it. Made-to-order pieces are covered by our warranty for manufacturing issues.
